Electives-one month acceptance

Hello Umarbhai,

I am pleased to write that I have been approved for an elective at Weill Cornell, (Pediatric Infectious Disease). Thanks to this wonderful website of yours. But I got rejection from other 5 universities and left with the only one elective. I wanted to know whether this experience will be enough or I need to apply in other colleges? Brown Alpert seems too costly. Shall I go for it? Please help me out.

Regards,

Nisarg Shah

Something is better than

Something is better than nothing.... it is better if you have more acceptances... and if you can afford applying to more places... go for it!

Congratulations fellow

Congrats. I think you really benefited from Dr. Umar's inspirations. Never lose hope, always cling to it. Work hard, and leave the rest to God.

This also teaches another lesson. Only when you strive, would you get opportunities in life. So hard work and belief in God are the secrets to success.

Thanks Ayaz. Yes, i truely

Thanks Ayaz. Yes, i truely did benifit. Every man is capable of fitting his destiny in due course of time; belief is what really matters... And in times of despair; endogenous adrenaline and enthusiasm gives the necessary boost to outsail the imminent rough seas...

So true Ayaz and Mohit.... it

So true Ayaz and Mohit.... it couldn't get better than this...

This is what life is all about... we all fall down but rise again... one thing we never lose is our hope... honestly speaking experiences like this also help me by elevating my mood whenever I am down... this website has helped me as much as it has helped others!

Umar Bhai, The site is not

Umar Bhai,

The site is not just a Hub of relevent information all compiled together... This site is much more than just that. Sometimes in life, working hard is just not enough. I believe everybody in their own capacitance works hard. And the path we have chosen leaves not much of a space for carrying on a personal life in peace. Atleast till we're through with the preliminaries, it is difficult. As i was saying, working hard is not all to it. God's will and wishes and blessings of people count, and in my case i can say my success is proportional to it thus far, but i still have a long way to go. Sometimes in life, one needs people around to believe in them; to believe FOR them, because for them to have belief in themselves, it takes sucess in hand. To start from scratch, one doesnt know where he will land on the trajectory he took and he is too engrossed with the chores; it takes well wishers to have him believe that things would be fine; perhaps better than anticipated.

And in the monotonousity of preparations, experiences that we share on this site being accessible to all those who enter this portal of light, it helps many more than you can count Umar Bhai, that is the genius and an open treasure chest you have in this site... I for example, was a silent visitor till i had something to say! Step 1 was the toughest schedule i ever followed till that time and i didnt know where i would go. Was sure of nothing, yet worked the best i could, and inspirations and dreams carried me along, but that was not enough. My parents, and my well wishers were the people who carried ME along, and i eventually scored 257, something i never even immagined to begin with.

So, for all the readers, all i wanna say is to do ur best, and leave the rest. In your own hands is just the will to excel and the strength to work for it. Give it all you can, while you can; and everything else will fall in place to make a path for you to walk along... When a road feels beautiful; be sure to ask yourself where it leads. But when the ideal u pursue is beautiful, dare not bother how the road feels...

Signing off till 5th may...

Mohit

I am sorry for the delay. I

I am sorry for the delay. I have been preparing for my step 2 on 5th... Thanks for your wishes. As for the application, it is true we do not have neurology; but its not like we dont come across neurology patients... A rough and practical estimate of the number of patients should suffice; and most importantly, once the relevent authority signs the forms, the material is attested and deemed correct nd verified... Good luck to you too.

Thanks a lot sir :)

Thanks a lot. all the best for ur upcoming elective and step 2.
